The Prayer Shawl Ministry combines love of knitting and crocheting with compassion for those in need of comfort  and healing. The shawl maker prays for whomever is to receive the shawl. All of our shawls receive a final blessing by the group, and a blessing by a priest. Shawl makers meet on the last Thursday of the month at 3:00 PM in the Sacred Heart Room in the rectory. Shawl makers may also be involved from home. In the words of Jane Bristol, who began this ministry, "Shawls wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace...shelter. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles."
