Ramp to Parish Office: Both entrances to the parish office have deteriorated and need to be replaced. In order to do this project correctly, we need to remove the current steps to both entrances, excavate, waterproof the basement, install new steps, and build a new ADA ramp. We will eliminate the current ramp entrance to the rectory, leaving just the main entrance with a ramp and steps. The ramp and rails will be concrete and steel respectively and will be a permanent solution that we need not worry about again. The other entrance will have wooden steps and be an emergency exit. We estimate the costs of this to be around $80,000.
School Electric: The existing incoming electrical service to the school consists of a 240 Volt, 200 amp, three-phase service primarily powering the 2 RTU’s and the school elevator, and a 240 Volt, 400 amp, single-phase service powering the balance of the electrical requirements. As the school has both grown and been updated through the years, with associated increased electrical demand, the service is no longer safely able to handle the load, and the risk of failure, school shutdown for an extended period, or fire are realistic. The need for electrical service upgrade is urgent. We are at 97% capacity and daily risk overheating. A replacement 208 Volt, 800 Amp, three-phase service has been recommended by both First Energy and Shannon Electric. We estimate the costs to be around $60,000.
